Amazing! I wasn't sure I was on the right blog - this is so very different from the other postings of yours that I have seen! Your gifted diversity is certainly shown in this painting...and it is such a cute little toy. Glad you had time off, and are now inspired with great ideas for 2008. I am looking forward to seeing more wonderful paintings! Happy New Year.

Marvelous. Zippy feels just a tad on the spooky side with that large looming shadow. Very fun and well done as always.

When I was working on this painting I was thinking Zippy was on stage, in the spot light singing opera --

Great painting! And such a change for you. I love painting toys, too, and some of them do have an innate, spooky quality to them. Remember "Chucky" the puppet? Judy

    Hi M,

Glad to see you're back painting after your Xmas break . . . and in such fabulous form.
This is a stunning, brave departure from your usual themes and is so exciting. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2008 . . . you have certainly brought my year in with fireworks.

I really want this painting . . . . ;) At this rate, I'll end up with a wall full of M Collier masterpieces.

Keep up the great work . . . I really look forward to every post from you.

    Nigel
