Paintings From The Point is a painting blog created to chronicle my progress as a painter. My name is M Collier and though I have lived in and traveled to many places I have comfortably settled on the west coast of California. Each of my painting is done in oils on 3/8" gessoed hardboard panel. All are painted from life. Thanks nickadoo -- the Protea has such a distinctive look and color. I love painting them.
Beautiful. Whenever I've painted them, I've always tried to get all the little finger-like buds in the center of the flower and nearly slit my wrists by the end of the painting. I think I actually prefer the way you have painted them here, with just the outside of the flower exposed. It is very rhythmic and soothing. I love it.
