Paintings From The Point is a painting blog created to chronicle my progress as a painter. My name is M Collier and though I have lived in and traveled to many places I have comfortably settled on the west coast of California. Each of my painting is done in oils on 3/8" gessoed hardboard panel. All are painted from life. That's an excellent painting. I really like the color harmony, and the handling of the paint is lovely.
Hey, thanks Jeff. I can't decide which I like to do better -- the more rendered images or the loose spontaneous ones.
This is a beautifully painted piece. I vote for the loose spontaneous. It reveals a more personal side of the artist and the pieces have much more life to them.

This is beautiful. I also agree with Peter and Jeff.... Paintings with a little 'leeway' offer the viewer the chance to work it out for themselves. Very, very nice work here.
